Types of Manuscript

Aquacultura Indonesiana welcomes the submission of high-quality scholarly manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of tropical aquaculture science, technology, and sustainable development. The journal considers manuscripts that demonstrate scientific originality, methodological rigor, and relevance to aquaculture research and practice. All submissions must fall within the journal’s aims and scope, present a meaningful contribution to existing knowledge, and comply with the journal’s author guidelines and publication ethics policies.

The journal accepts the following types of manuscripts:

1. Original Research Articles

Original Research Articles present the results of original experimental, observational, or analytical studies that provide new scientific findings and significant insights into aquaculture. These articles should include clearly defined research objectives, appropriate methodologies, reliable results, and a critical discussion supported by relevant scientific literature. Topics may include aquaculture nutrition, aquatic animal health and disease management, genetics and breeding, biotechnology, physiology, production systems, aquaculture engineering, environmental management, and sustainable aquaculture practices.

2. Short Communications

Short Communications present concise reports of significant and novel findings that warrant timely dissemination to the scientific community. These manuscripts may report preliminary but meaningful research results, innovative techniques, important observations, or specific findings that contribute to the advancement of aquaculture science. Although shorter than full research articles, Short Communications must demonstrate scientific validity, originality, and clear relevance to the journal’s scope.

3. Review Articles

Review Articles provide a comprehensive and critical synthesis of existing scientific literature on specific topics within aquaculture and related aquatic sciences. These manuscripts should evaluate current knowledge, identify emerging trends and research gaps, discuss unresolved scientific questions, and propose future research directions. Reviews should offer critical analysis and new perspectives rather than merely summarize previously published studies. Submission of Review Articles is subject to prior consultation with and approval by the editorial team.

4. Letters to the Editor

Letters to the Editor provide a scholarly platform for concise scientific discussion, constructive comments, or critical observations concerning topics relevant to aquaculture research and publications in the journal. They may address methodological issues, interpretations of published findings, emerging scientific concerns, or perspectives that contribute to academic dialogue. Letters should be evidence-based, clearly written, and relevant to the journal’s readership.

All submitted manuscripts are subject to an initial editorial assessment to determine their suitability for the journal, followed by peer review when deemed appropriate. Acceptance for publication depends on the manuscript’s originality, scientific quality, relevance, clarity, and compliance with the journal’s editorial policies. Submission of a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance or publication.
